Genetic Counseling Services and Education in Colorado

The Colorado Cancer Genetic Alliance is a partnership of genetic counselors, educators and public health professionals who offer genetic counseling services throughout the state. Our goal is to reduce the burden of cancer in Colorado by identifying those at higher risk for cancer due to inherited genetic factors. Part of achieving this goal is offering resources and support to providers like you.

We offer:

  • Education on genetic cancers for providers and patients
  • Tools for screening patients
  • Options for genetic counseling, screening, testing and surveillance for patients

When to refer a patient for a hereditary cancer risk assessment

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) recommends a risk assessment with a genetic counselor for patients who have a family history of cancer and meet any of the risk factors for hereditary cancer.
